OK. I think I've got this blog thing ironed out, and for once I actually have a lot to say. In fact, I have absolutely no idea where to begin. I guess backward chronologically will have to do.

-Tonight I watched something amazing. The Red Wings absolutely demolished the Avalanche 7-0 in the 7th game of the series, but I also watched Patrick Roy deteriorate from one of the greatest goalies in the NHL to swiss cheese. Brett Hull and the Wings knocked 4 past him in the first period alone. I can't claim any expertise in hockey, or even sports in general, but I do know that things like that happen only once in a great while. It was something to see.

-Earlier this afternoon, I hung out with Adam and his girlfriend Hannah (whose name is a palindrome). We went to Barnes & Noble and the mall, and saw Citizen Kane for free at a new theater that just opened in the old Imperial building. They're great people so I had a lot of fun. I don't know if the movie lived up to all its hype, but it definitely wasn't a waste of my time. It was also nice seeing Orson Welles when you could still fit all of him in one shot. And if you get the chance, check you out Mad Stone Theaters, it's a great place to see a movie.

-Yesterday, I hung out with Jenny, Missy, and Jared. We played the coolest games of Sorry! and CandyLand I've ever been a part of. If you didn't think CandyLand could involve gay lovers, well you're wrong, mister.

-Tuesday, I bought a bookshelf. Then, the Canes beat the Leafs on the road to advance to the Stanley Cup finals. Woo!

-Monday. Ah, Monday....The Day the Bathroom Died. Here's the story. I put my dorm fridge in my room, for greater soda-drinking convenience. I had Coke, Sprite, White Grape Peach juice, and Cherry Garcia ice cream in there, so I was about as happy as I could be. Unfortunately, I set the fridge too cold, so my juice froze solid. In a stroke of what can only be called purest idiocy, I set the juice out to thaw and promptly forgot to return it to the fridge for several days. What happened next was only natural, the sugars in the juice fermented and released gases, which built up steadily over time. I finally noticed something not quite kosher going on in the juice bottle, and decided to dump it out in the closest sink - my bathroom. I opened the cap, and juice started spraying out like shaken-up soda. Then..BLAM! The cap blew off, and the bottle rocketed backwards out of my hands and hit the wall behind me. My bathroom and myself were drenched in what was essentially grape-flavored beer. The floor, the walls, the mirror, the ceiling, nothing was safe from the onslaught of juice. And of course, all this happened at 1 AM. I cleaned up as best I could, but my bathroom still smells like a brewery.

-Saturday I turned 19. Adam sold my parents some knives, then we ate at Kabuki. Andy came over later and we saw Spider-Man. Nice. The Canes lost that night. Not so nice.

All right. Congratulations if you actually made it through all that. Anyway, the Iron Chef is on and the ingredient is cod roe, so I'm going to watch with rapt attention, in hopes that I'll find out what "roe" is. Check back soon for my blood-donation horror story.

There is only one difference between a madman and me. I am not mad.
