Well, my official time for Thanksgiving Break is in: I was home for exactly two hours and twenty minutes before I thought to myself, "Jesus, I really need a drink." Naturally, there is not a drink to be had in this entire house. I could have sworn I left some apple Schnaaps somewhere in my room, but no luck. And believe me, I felt like a damn alcoholic digging through my belongings for booze.
You see, my room is very tiny. I mean, I might as well move into the hall closet. Burney can attest to this. And when I got home, I found that my sister had moved the loveseat from her room into mine. Because she was sick of it. Right in the middle of my room, leaving me approximately one square foot of floor space. Not to mention the boxes and boxes of Girl Scout cookie order forms that were already being stored in there. I mean, what the fuck? This couldn't have waited until after my break?
Someone buy me a hip flask. And whiskey.

    High School Basketball.

    Remember it?

"Where's yo game at (insert number here)?"

Tonight I went to the Broughton vs. Green Hope basketball game to support my friend Chris on his birthday. Support him doing what? Sitting on the end of the bench, clapping for his guys, collecting nasty sweat towels when thrown at him, and providing moral support. The game was close all the way through, and Broughton ended up winning at the very end by one point. (Like I remember the score...)

But really. What do we end up remembering from sporting events the most? The fans.

My senior year of high school the marching band went to Elon to play. The main thing I remember is the crazy old women with her screeching "ELON!" yelling. At the Broughton game during the third period, an interesting looking man comes in with a safety vest on and a guitar slung over his shoulder. He sits down right infront of my friend Aaron and me, pulls out the guitar, and starts playing and singing for the team. Man, it was some crazy stuff. This guy was totally into it too. He had a nice rendition of "Wanna Be Just Like You" but changed the lyrics to "Wanna go to Broughton High School." When he wasn't playing, he was cheering. Such cheers included, "R-O-W-D-Y, let's get rowdy, rowdy!" and my personal favorite, "N-O-T-H-I-N-G, nothing, Green Hope is nothing." What amazed me is he played his guitar and sang while the teams were playing. He would stop if a time out was called. I was also surprised no one told him to stop. In band we get death looks if we play two seconds when the ball is in play.

    A side note:
Chris managed to pull off his dress-up ensemble tonight. He rocked the light blue dress shirt, navy tie, khakis (non cargo I thought), brown belt, and brown docs very well. Now the big challenge will be for him to put together another nice outfit for the next game. Good luck Chris. You can always go with the purple shirt and sparkling gold tie. Just get some gold glitter gel for your hair and you'll be all set :)

Happy "less than 15 minutes left in your" Birthday Chris!

Every time I start to think that I'm basically a good person, I catch myself watching "The Thin White Line" episode of Family Guy, and rewinding the part at the company picnic where they try and catch the greased-up deaf guy over and over and over until my t-shirt is soaked in drool from laughing so hard.

*high pitched voice* "You're never going to catch me! You're wasting your time! Forget about it! Go do something else! See y'all next year!

So far, the general consensus is that Revolutions did not fulfill expectations. That got me thinking that very few sibling movies ever match or top the oldest kid. Generally, a II movie starts off with a shot foot. A III movie has a shot foot and no arms. And then there are the rare, quality exceptions. Here now are mine.

Toy Story II - Yeah, the original was good, but man oh man, the second was even better.
Star Trek: First Contact - Arguably the best TNG movie evar.
X-Men II - The first five minutes sealed the deal for me.
Terminator II - Arnie as a bad guy-turned-good. Good.

    Ties:
Jurassic Park/Lost World - I really liked both of them equally. The III is dead to me.
Fellowship/Two Towers - I'm just particularly fond of the I, but the II was good too.
*edited (oops)* Star Wars IV, V, VI - 4 and 6 stand out, but I'm not a true aficianado. Aficianada?

    Why, God, why?
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - Could've been better.
Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions - Why, God, why?
    Grease II - Umm, yeah.
    Legally Blonde II - Puh-lease.
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle - Vomit.
Any and all Disney straight-to-video sequels - Why, why, why, why?

    To be determined:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - They better not screw up my favorite one.
LotR: RotK - The trailer looks kick-ass. I've got high hopes.
