Since the Justice League didn't get a chance to assemble over break, post what you did.

Wednesday - Trip to the mall, saw Bridget Jones with Holly, and work.
Thursday - Daytime work, home for dinner, saw Alfie with Holly and Chun.
Friday - Daytime work, NCSU vs. Campbell bball game.
Saturday - Up at the crack of dawn to drive to Charlotte, quick stop at Concord Mills, football game, over to Chris's house for a night with the Charlotte Crew
Sunday - Drove home, work, trip to Raleigh Grande to pick up pre-pop clear plastic popcorn bags, more work, left early.

    Highlights-
-Getting paid time and a half on Thanksgiving to do nothing at all.
-Fun with the mellos at the game
-Playing DDR with tall lanky white boys who surely cannot dance.
-Raleigh Grande excursion where I saw Ferial in box and Chip.

Break was just way too short this year. Good thing Winter break is coming up. We have a lot of events we need to make happen. Rock on.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I am grateful because (in no particular order):
    -I'm a college grad
    -I'm alive
    -My parents love me
    -I love my parents
    -My extended family isn't insane
-I'm not cold, hungry, wet, or being shot at
-I have all the creature comforts I could ever want/need and more, but...
-...the SuperTarget opened up down the street
-...I have three places to get Kiehl's (Nordstrom, Saks, Luxe)
-...the Sephora moved from Chapel Hill to Raleigh
    -I have a paying job
-I have awesome bitches as friends
    -My mattress isn't lumpy

Can and do college students develop ADD? It's crazy but I seriously can't focus on school work like I used to be able to. I think my problem is this thing called the Internet. Maybe you've heard of it. I was home from work by 6 and it's nearly 11 and all I've done to write my paper is skim through some Health Care policy proposals from Bush and Kerry. I've also updated my webpage, the blog, checked all my message boards, chatted a bit, watched the intro plus one song on the Something Corporate Live DVD, and written an email. It's not like I'm sitting around doing nothing. I'm just sitting around doing anything that isn't my paper. I've had a craptastic day so the plan for now is to cut my losses, get ready for bed, try to read two chapters for my Political Theory class tomorrow, and then fall asleep in the process. At least tomorrow will be exciting as I'm hating myself for all the procrastination and still manage to find time to go to pep band practice and see Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason with the girls.

    Genetically modified cats for sale

    Wednesday, November 3, 2004 Posted: 0857 GMT

(CNN) -- A California biotechnology company has started taking orders for a hypoallergenic cat for pet lovers prone to allergies.

The genetically engineered feline, which is expected to be available from 2007, is the first in a planned series of lifestyle pets, Los Angeles-based Allerca said in a press release.

Allerca hopes to attract customers among the millions of people worldwide who suffer from cat allergies.

Up to 10 percent of the U.S. population alone are believed to be prone to symptoms that can affect the eyes, nose, ears, throat, lungs and skin.

Many cat lovers ignore medical advice and discomfort and choose to keep the animals as pets, or use expensive medications to cope with their allergies.

Cat allergen is also one of the main causes of childhood allergies, asthma and other respiratory diseases such as bronchitis.

Cat allergies are caused by a potent protein secreted by the cat's skin and salivary glands. The allergen is so small it can remain airborne for months.

Using "gene silencing" technology, Allerca is able to suppress the production of the protein.

The first breed of hypoallergenic cats will be British Shorthairs, which are considered to be ideal pets with friendly, playful and affectionate personalities.

Allerca expects the first kittens to be born in early 2007 and is already accepting $250 deposits from interested customers.

Allerca president Simon Brodie told The Associated Press that he ultimately hopes to sell 200,000 of the cats annually at $3,500 each in the United States.

Brodie said the cats would be spayed and neutered to prevent breeding with naturally born animals.

He also said he didn't expect to have any problems with federal regulators after neither the U.S. Department of Agriculture nor the Food and Drug Administration objected to the creation of a genetically-engineered pet fish because it wasn't meant for human consumption.

The GloFish, which went on sale in pet stores earlier this year, is a zebra fish implanted with a fluorescent sea anemone gene.

"As long as people don't start eating cats and they don't enter the food chain, then we should be handled like the GloFish," Brodie told the AP.

The genetic-engineered cat is the latest attempt to apply biotechnology to the lucrative pet industry.

In August, Genetic Savings & Clone -- another Californian company -- announced that it had successfully cloned two kittens from a one-year-old female Bengal cat and said it could clone anyone's pet for around $50,000.

Amanda first brought this up as we were driving to Chapel Hill the last time. Got $50K? You can have Fido, Fido II, Fido III, etc. Just think, a school who has an animal mascot could theorectically have the same genetic animal forever. Scary.

It's November 1st and I'm wearing shorts. What's up with this heat wave? Fall is for jeans, sweaters, and colored leaves.

This weekend I went to Clemson for the NCSU vs. Clemson game. The kickoff was 12pm so naturally we had to leave campus at 4am. We got there 45 mins early so we had time to sit around. Chick-Fil-A had a catering van pull up to where our bus was so we had yummy chicken sandwiches for lunch. My first impression of Tiger Country: damn, they have a big stadium. The campus seemed pretty spread out and from what I remember, traffic wasn't bad at all. Before the game we walked around the stadium and I saw the famous rock thing. Holden's rock or something, brought from Death Valley, CA to Death Valley, SC. Big whoop. It was barely bigger than a football. I did touch the rock in order to put a curse on it of course. Didn't really work. We should have taken Jay Davis and beat his head up against the rock instead. Come back Philip Rivers, we need you! We stayed in a hotel in Greenville, about an hour away. I ate dinner then watched Gothika, did some homework, then went to bed when one of my roommates got back to the room. I went on the trip thinking I could have fun with some friends but that didn't happen. I came home with nearly $30 of my $44 travel money so that is good. It makes up for the crappy parts of the trip.

On Sunday when we got back I took a nap then went to work. We could dress up for Halloween so I wore a windsuit, a soccer t-shirt and my Sambas and said I was a soccer player. I could have pulled it off if I really had worn a jersey, shorts, and knee high socks but who cares. It was a night at work without wearing the manager clothes anyway. Then it took forever for Ryan and I to close. The major roadblock was he was off in his concession counts, but didn't tell me so I could help him check for the lost items. He is so dumb. I wanted to kill him when we figured out the problem. Cash took forever for me cause stuff was off from the daytime I'm assuming. To top it all off I get to work again on Monday and Tuesday nights. Monday is an extra shift I'm taking to be a team player. Hope it's not too awful.

What's going on with the rest of the Justice League?
