Everyone go here and tell them you are upset that Durham was out of Chocolate Zuccotto Cake on Oct 27, 2004 and May 26, 2005. I want that damn chocolate cake!

I read this comic and totally thought about how the Justice League is going to kick some ass and take some names for Burney's upcoming Birthday dinner.

Is there a word for the type of rage you get when you're downloading a large file and for some reason it stops with like 2 megabytes left and won't start up again?

Because I'm feeling a large quantity of it.

    Way to go Satchel!

The comics on Monday and Tuesday allude that Bucky's birthday is coming up. We need some Harris Teeter cake and a celebration.

It's about two years too late, but here is my Watauga Democrat newspaper debut. The working title was "Extraterrarium life," but I got shut down by the editor on that one. Shout out to Dr. Kay Taylor and her Journalism Practices class:

So $25 dollars and about 3 hours of work later and I've got pictures off my cell phone and onto the web for all of you to see. I'm so excited now that I can take pics of anything on my cell phone, which I carry around with me nearly everywhere, and get them on my computer. Yay yay yay.

Considering I'm either directly or indirectly responsible for making a lot of the readers out there Ben Folds/Five fans, I will finally post about his releases.

Since Ben has gone solo, he has put a lot of stuff out there:

Rockin' The Suburbs- A classic album that got a lot of kids on the bandwagon.

Ben Folds Live- A cd for those kids on the bandwagon.

The Bens EP (with Ben Kweller and Ben Lee- 4 songs of fun with the guys. They toured Australia together.

Speed Graphic EP- Something new with a cover of The Cure's "Inbetween Days" and new recordings of old BFF songs, "Dog" and "Protection."

Sunny 16 EP- More of Ben doing his 'thang.

Super D EP- Getting off the beaten path a bit, but still got to love "Rent-a-cop" and "Get Your Hands Off My Woman."

re-issue of Whatever and Ever Amen- complete with touching liner notes from the guys and 7 remastered bonus tracks. Naturally, I have six of these bonus tracks already except the studio version of "Video Killed the Radio Star" (I only have a live version of that)

Songs For Silverman- The long anticipated new album from Ben. We thought it could be out last fall until Ben started work on the Shatner album and was all tied up in that. The cd isn't for those bandwagon kids. They should listen to the EP's and probably ignore the fact this cd came out. The music is sensational on the album. None of the songs really "rock" and don't compare to other previous Ben songs. Except "Prison Food" sounds a lot like "Emaline," "Mitchell Lane," and "Brick." I've only listened to it twice so I can't offer an opinion on all the songs. However, these stand out:

-Bastard- a good song to open with. Good to hear him playing with other people.
-You to Thank- A song about two people who get married too young and realize it when things fall apart. I like the piano.
-Landed- the single. Honestly, it seems the most "single-friendly" song on the album. Personally, I like the version with strings not on the album.
-Gracie- a song for his daughter. Very cute.
-Give Judy My Notice- the messed this song up. It sounds like a bad country song. The vocals are ok but it does not need the Pedal Steel. The EP version is soooooooooo much better.
-Late- the song for Elliott Smith. Very classy and I don't expect him to ever play it live.

Songs For Goldfish- a 10 song cd with some live old favorites and some other fun stuff. A great live version of "Rockin' The Suburbs." The Radio Jingles for Tokyo's Inter-FM are hilarious. The second one:
"When the worries of the world have got you feeling down
And you're looking for some music that is pretty good
    Tokyo's number one music station
    76 point 1 Inter-FM
    It's usually pretty good."
