One student has died and another is in critical condition after they both fell from a third-story window of a dormitory at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill early this morning.
The young men were apparently chasing each other in the Stacy Residence Hall on campus when they fell through a hallway window, according to a university spokeswoman, Karen Moon. They fell three stories onto a concrete area, Moon said.
Authorities say the dead student is Keith Shawn Smith. The other, Tyler Downey, is in critical condition at UNC Hospitals.
Campus police are still investigating the incident, which took place shortly after midnight. -----
That's either just plain stupid or incredibly sketchy, like that girl who was murdered near NC State and the burned corpse near AppState.

If you haven't read the LJ yet, I am going to the middle of Wisconsin on February 25. There is a team going to Detroit this round so hopefully that means Detroit won't have any other projects and I won't have to go there.
Today we had Diversity training. It was ok but I don't know if I learned anything. That's how most of the training goes. I was also tired the entire time cause I didn't sleep well last night. I think I woke up with the flu. I have a doctor's appt tomorrow morning. Blah.

All the pictures of the city last night during the Super Bowl made me want to gag. Also, I have a magnet on my minifridge in here from Detroit. I should probably throw it away.

You may remember me telling you all about the mouse in our house. At first, I was all for getting a mousetrap and sending him to Vermin Heaven. My sister was against this, as she had been feeding him and had named him Oliver. And once I saw him, I had to admit he was pretty cute. So then I decided to set up a humane mousetrap of my own design. Basically, it consisted of a sand bucket with a cardboard ramp leading up the edge of the bucket, the theory being that Oliver will walk up the ramp and fall in the bucket and then I can chuck him outside. I even put sandpaper on the ramp so he could get some traction and baited the whole contraption with Honey Nut Cheerios. Unfortunately, mice are smarter than they appear. The next day I had no mouse and no Cheerios. Same situation the next few days.
So I decided, eh, what the hell. He can stay. And if he's going to stay, he might as well be comfy. So I built him a house, with a "window" and everything. Gave him a dish of rabbit food and a dish of water.
However, the first time I wake up with a mouse on my face, I'm catching him in a mousetrap and putting him on a tiny pike in the closet as a warning to all other belligerent mice. That’s so not on.
