I am sick. I've had a raging cold since last Friday. It's gotten worse Wednesday and Thursday. Today I significantly lost the ability to taste food.
I made grilled cheese with mozzarella and cheddar. I did not taste it. I made pot roast soup. I did not taste it. I made a turkey and mozzarella sandwich with creamy dijon mustard. I did not taste it, and especially missed the dijon taste.
I also seem to have lost some of my appetite as well. I'm gonna eat a snack now that I am home from work but I'm not really excited about eating. Maybe I'll just eat some vegetables. I don't want to waste any good food that I can't currently taste.

You may remember my co-worker 'B' from the story where I was being especially quiet one morning and she told my I was really "anti-climatic," and I guess she meant "anti-climactic," by which I suppose she meant antisocial, which people confuse with advoidant, but whatever. Anyway, this conversation took place this morning:
B: Amanda, what does betrothed mean to you? Me: What, like the noun? I guess I kind of think of it as the person you’re engaged to… B: Yeah, me too. But I heard someone this weekend using like they meant “dread,” like a verb. But I didn't think that was right. Me: Yeah, I guess sometimes people like to use big words to make themselves sound smart, but they don’t know what they mean. B: I KNOW, RIGHT?!? Me (in my head): Bitch, I’m talking about you.
It's enough to make me start drinking on my lunch break.

We have the oats and chocolate bars here at work. I bet the other ones are good as well. You can even request a free sample of one of the cereals on the site.
***7:05pm Addition*** Another thing I don't get is why they have to make granola bar seem like candy bars. When I eat a granola bar, I already know it contains good things and don't necessarily need the chocolate/marshmallows/cookie bits. I'm fine with peanut butter in bars cause I still think that's a good source of protein.
Even with all that said, I do enjoy the Smores version of the Quaker Chewy granola bars.
It's in the old Blockbuster location near Carrabba's and Goodberry's off Kildaire. They divided the building into sections and nothing else is in the other parts yet.
I've seen this commercial a handful of times now -- but I lost it today. Like, raindrop tears streaming down my face and "Why!!?!" a la Amanda and the Loss of Hot Water.
It doesn't help that Duchovny's voice still makes my ovaries ache.
